I knew I needed some fresh Matt Berry line readings in my life but I was in no way prepared for the one-two combo of “burritAS” and “chilaquilesAH”. I may never be able to order at a Mexican restaurant without laughing ever again.

Always a bit nervous because it seems so easy for this show to become mediocre, but it does not disappoint. The blood-spurting scène had me in stitches just like in the original movie, and the wine-glass guy was one of my favourite gags. Everyone one was in top form. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Biased, because chilaquiles is a top 3 food for me, and getting Berry to say it was amazing. Also, other than his usual flourish, it was perfect pronunciation of the word.
Happy to have this show back and to have Noel covering it again! I enjoyed the constant teasing of if Gizmo went through with becoming a vampire only for us to find out that he did but it go all messed up somehow. My current guess is that his Van Helsing blood is interfering with the process and causing the current weirdness.
Oh yeah, it's absolutely something to do with his vampire hunter heritage. That's the Occam's Razor explanation for why no vampire has ever heard of this happening. Why would it have?
Yes! I was wondering this too. It'd be great (and tragic?) for him to have a Van Helsing immune system that actually prevents him from becoming a vampire.
I didn’t realize how much I missed this show until it was back. I felt a little bit like last season was spinning some wheels (probably because I missed Colin so much and didn’t love the baby Colin plot line), but these two episodes are an amazing return to form. Love the humor/tension balance, especially with Gizmo’s situation. Him and Lazlo navigating this mess is going to be amazing.
As always, I'm impressed with how propulsive the plot on this show can be, despite the general laid-back sitcom energy. So many series would have milked Guillermo hiding his secret from the others for half a season or more -- here, Laszlo gets brought in by the end of the second episode, which promises all manner of fun new developments and complications ahead. I'm so glad this program is back with us, and apparently as unafraid of blowing up its status quo as ever.
Agreed. I'm a huge fan of shows that just barrel forward, confident that there were always be more story to tell so there's no need to hoard it. (It's an entirely different kind of show but at its best, Outlander is like that too. Each season is adapting a 1000-page book so the show doesn't linger on any one plot development too long.)
Yes! I haven't seen Outlander, but my go-to comparison when I'm recommending that aspect of this show to people is The Good Place. Smart, funny sitcoms that end nearly every episode in a different story place for the characters going forward, and make it all look so easy.

The Mall was hilarious. Every bit of it killed. It was just so good to laugh that much. There is no funnier show on TV right now.

Okay yes those are some great Matt Berry line readings but the line that made me LOL was "Who the fuck's this bonanza?"

I like that theory!

I was thinking the same thing.

Antipaxos is a Greek island
Ah! Will correct that going forward, thanks.
