So excited for another season of this ridiculous and wonderful show and excited for your recaps!

I was a bit of a critic of Season 1 but of course that didn’t matter because it’s a lush costume drama filled with fine actors (from The Good Fight universe, no less!). However I feel more hopeful about Season 2 already. I am pleased that they have wrapped up the Peggy/baby melodrama. It just wasn’t that interesting to me. I do hope her parents come back but overall I prefer Peggy in the thick of the action at the van Rhijn’s and hopefully she’ll be back at the printing press as well. OMG I am so in for the New York Opera Wars! What a terrific setting and performance at the end. I had to chuckle at the anti-union robber baron meeting. A bit meta as the SAF-AFTRA strike is still ongoing. Looking forward to watching this show every week and reading the recaps here!

So ready to strap in for more Gilded Age; the costumes and sets are amazing and Christine Baranski usually gets at least one zinger in per episode. Can't wait to read your takes, Donna.

I don't think there were quite enough Hat Shots(tm) this episode. We must demand more.

Also, who expected the War of 1866 to get a shoutout?

Super nice to see Robert Sean Leonard here!

I am thrilled you are recapping this show, Donna! Might you know who played the opera singer?

IMDB is not nearly as helpful as it once was!

Why oh why is there not more magnetic men in this show?! All we have is Mr Russell and he’s mostly going to be being an evil capitalist! Oscar is kinda interesting I guess but... there’s so many interesting, beautiful women and the men are mostly SNORE. (This is my shallow take thank you)
