I'm a big fan of the whitewater canoe and kayak slaloms! And NBC's streaming coverage has been great since I can't watch live during the day so I watch at night. It's pretty easy to navigate and I can flick through and find the events I want to watch relatively easily. And I guess because I have Peacock premium or whatever I don't have to watch ads, which is clutch.

I've also been getting into the skateboarding. No idea what the commentators are saying when they name the tricks (or how they tell them apart) but I appreciate the effort.

It seems like each year there's a different random event I get super into. In 2021 it was kayak and canoe and the real fun of it is recognizing names and competitors from that last Olympic cycle. This year my new thing has been judo, which has gone from "I'm not at all sure what is supposed to be happening here" on day one to "this is one of the great sporting competitions I've ever seen" with the concluding mixed team final (and not just because the mixed final was largely decided by a cameo from the Price is Right wheel, though that helped). I didn't know who Teddy Riner was a week ago and now he's my favorite athlete. The Olympics!

I'm an AMC A-Lister and I probably would have gone to an Olympics screening if the timing worked out, but I'm in California so it's simply not feasible to get to a theater that early in the day especially because I am NOT a morning person.

The Olympics have been tough for me due to the time zone and the fact that I have a 4 day a week office job, but my ipad has been clutch. And I woke up at 8am voluntarily (which I never, ever do) to watch pommel horse and have been watching on my couch for the last 2.5 hrs 😬

The multi feed has been a godsend. Not only because of the obvious more Olympics = good concept, but because I think it's using some international feed broadcasters instead of the NBC crew so the America-centricness is toned down and there's more analysis of the actual competition as opposed to everything being viewed through the lens of what this means for America.

The track and field centric one is probably my favorite so far because it was totally commentary free. My ideal sports broadcast is one that makes you feel like you are in the stadium, and a broadcast feed that shows everything going on in the stadium at once while just hearing the sounds of the PA, the athletes, and the crowd is about as close as it can get.
