Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for our first Substack Live chat yesterday, where we dove into the dynamics of parasocial connections with reality contestants based on this week’s Survivor, which featured Pod Save America host Jon Lovett and an acquaintance of Ben’s.
While there are some challenges to the interface (thanks to Substack’s Seth for checking in early on and being open to feedback), it worked pretty smoothly, and I think it’s a great way to both engage in more dialogue within Episodic Medium’s great group of contributors and collaborating with other Substacks/critics. I’ll be looking for more opportunities to go live in the future, so stay tuned. If you missed it and want to experience it live, you do have to watch through the Substack app.
