Episodic Discussion: English Teacher Season 1 with Donna Bowman

It’s honestly a bit strange that FX hasn’t already ordered a second season of Brian Jordan Alvarez’s English Teacher—the show got a warm welcome from critics, and as the conversation Donna and I had last week shows, it delivered on the creative side throughout the first eight episodes. Perhaps they’re waiting to see the data once it’s bingeable across both Disney+ and Hulu, or maybe they were just waiting for Alvarez to return from New Zealand (where he was filming Megan 2) to do another round of press.
