The season ends with a deflating reveal

Give them this much: The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power ended its first season with both a fully revealed Lord and a trio of freshly forged powerful rings. That much, at least, was delivered upon. As to whether or not it was worth the eight episodes it took to get to those big reveals…well. I wanted to believe. I even went so far last week as to say I was all in. But “Alloyed,” which looks to pay off several storylines running through the show’s first season while also establishing new plots to explore for the season ahead, did not reward my faith.
