Review: The Good Fight, “The End of a Saturday” | Season 6, Episode 6
The firm pulls together to save a sick kid, but those wholesome vibes are too good to last
We've got ourselves a old-fashioned Good Wife episode! “The End of a Saturday” hits the flippers and shoots the characters all over Chicago, knocking down targets, activating minigames, rocketing off of bumpers, keeping multiple balls in play. The episode ends with pizza and champagne, and a detente between rivals for the firm. And it all takes place within a speedy 38 minutes, even shorter than a network hour.
In the process we get to see another side of Ri’Chard and a little bit of Carmen’s private life. But both turn out to be less about who they are outside of work than it first appears. And the turmoil in the streets recedes -- until the ending brings it back with a thud and a bloody splat. For the space of one Saturday, the team holds this one thing together, straining on the ropes and scrambling after the pieces. Then the disintegration reappears, and even infects their ivory tower. We’re back in the fight.
