Review: Survivor, "You Can't Hide on Survivor"/"The Devil You Do Or The Devil You Don't" | Season 42, Episodes 6 and 7
An unwieldy headline for a predictable yet satisfying rerun of Season 41's biggest twist
I was called into the tennis center for some emergency doubles fill-in tonight, which meant I started Survivor 90 minutes late. And my TV happened to be on CBS when I turned it on, and I caught a glimpse of Tori in the first post-merge immunity challenge. Before Season 41, this wouldn’t have been a big deal, but things are different now: I knew immediately that I had effectively spoiled myself for what I knew was the inevitable return of the Hourglass Twist.
This was disappointing, as I don’t like spoilers, and worried that it would take a moment of suspense out of something that I already dislike on principle after how it played out in the fall. But when the teams were eventually determined, and the winning group chose to send Rocksroy to Exile Island, I realized it wasn’t a spoiler at all.
