Proposed: Jeff isn't allowed to give episodes titles based on dumb things he says
One of the structural elements of Survivor that we sometimes take for granted is the uncertain moment the show creates between the reveal of the votes at tribal council and the reveal of who they belong to. It’s not always a particularly striking reveal, but there’s always the possibility that we’ll discover a vote went differently than we expected; that plays out better when we’ve had to sit with the result through a commercial break, and it’s amplified by then sitting through a week of waiting to better understand what happened.
Sometimes, though, you convince yourself of an explanation that turns out to be wrong. This happened here in Season 44, when last week Frannie’s vote for Jaime at tribal was written off by some (read: me) as a vote split. But when “Full Tilt Boogie” begins, Frannie is back at camp and furious with Danny that no one informed her the plan had changed.
