Surprising no one, Survivor failed to self-reflect on Season 41's dumbest twist
In our discussion of last week’s episode of Survivor, we were wondering at what point Omar—who has been dominating the game strategically despite never being perceived as a threat—would start to draw attention to himself. The general consensus was “soon,” but the preview for this week’s episode promised some kind of twist, and as always there is an immense caveat on any type of Survivor prognostication, particularly in the “Monster” era: the game can always change in ways you can’t anticipate.
But even before that twist emerges, it seems that Omar is basically in the clear for now. Mike’s sanctimonious approach to targeting Hai was always going to be a problem: he is so convinced of how “pure” his own game is, and how anyone who dares to cross him is somehow playing the game wrong, that it was probably inevitable that he would overreach quickly.
