In a remote Norwegian location, the heads of GoJo and Waystar Royco practice archery, dance through the night, and trade veiled insults over breakfast pastries. It’s quite a well-appointed affair, with breathtaking vistas, drones buzzing through the background of shots, and fire pits that are perfect for plotting an epic act of self-sabotage with your brother. Among the natural splendor spoiled only by Scandinavian modern cabins where you can lock eyes with your neighbor while cranking one out in the lavatory, the clashing cultures and generations of these corporate giants are failing to prove their compatibility. While Logan Roy sits on a slab at Frank E. Campbell, the business he built is receiving a Viking funeral—and his sons are holding the bows that fired the flaming arrows.

Succession has been snidely riffing on the GoJo team’s Hägar the Horrible lineage for a few episodes, and “Kill List” brings an appropriately saga-like scale to the conclusion of Lukas Mattso…
