Review: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, "Whose Show Is this?" | Season 1, Episode 9
A self-aware finale reveals Jen's Big Bad has been hiding in Burbank all along
I honestly don’t really know how to write about “Whose Show Is This?”
Throughout the season, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has left its “Big Bad” largely undefined, hinted at with the requisite—and fairly rote—teases of a larger conflict lurking in the shadows of Jen’s narrative. While the show’s tongue-in-cheek tone has certainly tried to blunt some of its embrace of these tropes, they have still been key narrative drivers, with enough bread crumbs that the reveal that dweeby super-obsessed Todd was actually HulkKing and plotting to inject himself with a synthesized version of her blood to himself become a Hulk read as a logical conclusion. I wouldn’t say the result of that story seemed that interesting, but it was at the very least resolving threads we’d explored and considered in these reviews and the comments, and a key part of a serial narrative is achieving some degree of closure.
