If you skipped the "Previously On," the episode's reveal might have had an impact
I don’t know what show specifically invented “Previously On” sequences, but I feel pretty confident that it wasn’t a show built around a season-long mystery.
Admittedly, let’s acknowledge that I’m a person writing about this show closely on a weekly basis, and you are all people reading those reviews on a weekly basis, and thus we are not your average viewer of Only Murders In The Building. As such, we’re primed heading into this penultimate episode to be looking for any clues as to the mastermind behind the murder of Bunny Folger, and will read into anything and everything the show gives us. Accordingly, I have to imagine that all of us clocked when the “Previously On” sequence opens with a reminder that Cinda Canning is a person who exists, and a person whose podcast first brought our trio together. It’s a reminder that makes absolutely zero sense unless she’s going to become important to this episode of television, and given that it’s the penultimate episode it’s not…
