Review: Only Murders In The Building, "Here's Looking At You" | Season 2, Episode 4
A surprise arrival unlocks key themes in a Charles-centric outing
Technically speaking, “Here’s Looking At You” has story notes for all three of our heroes. After discovering that there are prohibition-era tunnels in the walls of the Arconia that the killer has used to both kill Bunny and place the evidence framing the main trio, Oliver witnesses Teddy and Theo having a heated argument as their legal situation drives them apart, forcing him to reflect on his relationship with his own son who he brushed off earlier in the episode. Mabel, meanwhile, hears Charles’ speech to Nina about parenting and reflects on her own father, and the parental role that Charles has taken on in her own life to a degree.
However, this is a very Charles-centric episode given the fact that it’s Lucy—his former neighbor/quasi-stepdaughter—who reveals the existence of the tunnels, and who has Charles in such a reflective place about parenthood.
