Review: Only Murders in the Building, "The Last Day of Bunny Folger" | Season 2, Episode 3
A flashback adds humanity to the season's victim, but struggles to maintain season's momentum
By rooting its second-season murder mystery in the aftermath of its first, Only Murders In The Building has created a specific narrative challenge for itself. On the one hand, the characters need to be moving on and evolving, because we already saw their first season arcs play out and need to see an extension of that—the second episode that aired last week did a lot of this type of work. But on the other hand, the circumstances of Bunny’s murder fundamentally overlap with the end of last season, and with the climate at the Arconia in the wake of our heroes solving Tim Kono’s murder and stopping Jan from destroying the building.
