Review: Justified: City Primeval, “You Good?” | Episode 5
Carolyn makes a decision, and no, she is not “good”
Do you ever have that feeling when watching a TV show, when something isn’t quite clicking for you, that it surely can’t be the show’s fault? That it simply must be on you? The feeling that the only reason something’s not exactly making sense within the series has to be because of your own mental failings and inability to pick up whatever the show is laying down? I ask this because that’s how I’ve started to feel about Justified: City Primeval. Especially during this week’s episode, in which, even after watching just about every scene twice, I still found myself at a loss as to what exactly the series is trying to do or say.
This isn’t a new issue with City Primeval, as I spent a good portion of my “Backstabbers” review trying to figure out just what the show was doing when it came to Willa in that episode. But it is a problem with a series that exists in a format that should allow for it to be far more focused than it is. Because even things like Aunjanue Ellis’ stella…
