A flashback episode that takes us into the future
“Nothing’s Wrong With It, I Just Don’t Need It Anymore” is a flashback episode about choices and their consequences. “Your impulse is to do something stupid,” Ro advises Yandy in something like the episode’s thesis statement, “but believe me, it’s only gonna feel good in the moment, and when that feeling wears off, you’re fucked.” It’s good advice for a man who’s about to push Bonnie’s husband into the ocean: “Those decisions follow you around forever, and you gotta live with the consequences. So be smart. Don’t do anything you’ll regret.”
In this episode of Bad Monkey, we see the decisions that have gotten our characters to where they are now—Andrew Yancy’s journey to becoming a food cop in the Florida Keys instead of a detective in Miami and Nick Stripling turning from a “good-natured two-bit con man” to a murderer who cut his own arm off. The latter story takes up two-thirds of the episode, and though it’s a sad story, it’s a great showcase for Rob Delaney as Nick a…
