Review: Andor, "Rix Road" | Season 1, Episode 12
A funeral turns into a moment of reckoning in an explosive finale

Well, friends, we’ve arrived at the halfway point. Kind of. As you may recall, Andor is slated to run for two twelve-episode seasons, and seeing as “Rix Road” is the first season finale, that’s the halfway point. We’ve known from the start that Andor would have to end with the Rebellion in full swing, and with Cassian Andor as a vital part of its living, breathing engine. It’s to the credit of series creator Tony Gilroy that he and his fellow writers have managed to mine as much genuine tension as they have (especially in the back half of this season), simply because we all know the title character can’t get too roughed up.
But Andor has worked less because Cassian Andor is a flashy, distinctive, and charismatic figure, and more because those around him are picking up the slack.
