Ugh, Kinja. What a disaster. I rewatched the New Girl episode where Nick and Jess kiss for the first time last night and wanted to go back and see what people were saying on the review and it's just unbearable to even look at, let alone function as an actual comment section.

Honestly I'm really surprised at the number of shows you're reviewing here now. And most of them are ones I watch. I'll never be a Survivor fan and there are a few I just haven't watched yet but most likely will at some point. You and all the reviewers have done an amazing job. Bravo!

I definitely relate to falling out of the habit of reading weekly recaps/reviews. This site and The Watch podcast have partially replaced the old AV Club habit, but it's not the same as it was.

I've also found myself gravitating more toward movies lately, which may be related to these trends. New releases in Oscar season have a similar in-the-moment criticism to consume, but old movies seem to have more staying power, and Letterboxd gives me a fun way to get a little bit of community reaction from friends, critics, and others.

Can we say one more time for the folks in the back what a flex HBO is making, putting the final seasons of "Succession" and "Barry" on the same Sundays? They have so many golden geese over there, they're not even spreading out the end of two of their biggest awards magnets. It's kinda hot, actually.

I absolutely recognize the tradeoffs you have to make in choosing shows to cover and why it skews towards the buzzier. Still there are a lot of shows that aren't so much in the zeitgeist for peak TV viewers that I wish we could build a commenting community around. Number one on that list for me is Young Sheldon, but American Auto is another one. I know the chat feature is out there; maybe now that it's on the web I'll find it more convenient to spend time there.

I also hope you'll evaluate your coverage on binge-release shows on a case by case basis. I still like the model, and I don't think good conversations should be precluded just because Netflix doesn't get off on being withholding.

Always create all the exceptions for Heartstopper. Those sweeties deserve the love.

I'm not saying you should bring back all letter grades but maybe just two: the "A" and the "A/F". Who cares about the other letters but the A-A/F is a one-two punch worth saving. Or if only one. A/F. The A/F reviews were all great (all 3 of them? 5?) and I'd read them even if I never watched the show.

Thanks for all your great coverage, very excited for the spring season coming up!

I like that even when there's a show you don't officially cover, it often gets mentioned in the Week-to-Week stray thoughts and/or comments. Plus we have the chat feature now (though it's taking some getting used to, personally. Not sure if you're looking for feedback here, but of the *shrug emoji* shows you mentioned, yes I would read Maisel and American Auto reviews.

It'll really be interesting to see "The Other Two" (which I love) after all this time. I imagine it'll come back as a completely different show for the second time.

With the focus on why some shows are covered and not others, the only perspective I can provide is how it matches to my own viewing habits. A way to look at is is amount of shows I watch / shows covered by EM:

March: 8/11

April: 7/9

May: 6/8

I’m not in any danger to ever unsubscribe, but even then, these are good stats! Gotta catch up on Yellowjackets and that numerator will go up by 1.
