One of the downsides of the world of superhero cinema, even for the truest of believers, is that eventually you run into a creative wall once the universe has been expanded wide enough. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, no matter your broad opinion of its current state, was designed to first introduce a global audience to the members of the Avengers Initiative before bringing those disparate heroes together for a team-up effort or two. The DC Universe, such as it is, was been meant to do that as well, with the Justice League. We could litigate until our faces turn blue how successful each of these efforts are (though a person could say that since there’s only ever been one MCU and DC Comics is on its *counts* third attempt at world-building in less than twenty years, Marvel soundly won this battle).
