Get your popcorn ready for another wild ride
I pulled up this week’s episode of Survivor on Paramount+ because jetlag canceled my plans to watch it last night, which meant that I was given the option to skip the “Previously On” sequence. And while I normally would have taken them up on that in the interest of time, as this is already later than I’d like, I obviously missed last week’s episode beyond scanning through Ben’s review in my inbox (thanks to him for stepping in).
But that review suggested a degree of chaos, and it felt like an episode where seeing it play out would be helpful. I don’t think it was actually clarifying, just so we’re clear—Q’s actions made no more sense with additional context, and his explanation for it when the episode starts is far from convincing. Q wants to frame his actions as a matter of taking personal responsibility for his failures, but Ben’s right: he realized he was drifting away from control of the game and was trying to protect his reputation.
